Administrative Coordinator – Part time  (10 hours/week)

Claremont Educational Foundation (CEF) is an independent, volunteer led, community non-profit organization founded in 1991 to benefit the Claremont Unified School District. Our Board of Directors is composed of business and community leaders, parents, and school district staff, who together carry out the CEF mission. All members are volunteers. CEF is a member of the California Consortium of Education Foundations.

Administrative Coordinator
We are seeking a part-time Administrative Coordinator with an entrepreneurial streak who is passionate about making a significant difference in public education. As the first staff position for the Claremont Educational Foundation, we are looking for a candidate who can meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and self-direction.  Responsibilities include general administrative support, database management, mailings, maintenance of office records, and event coordination.

Reporting to the volunteer President and Executive Committee, the Administrative Coordinator will perform a variety of skilled administrative and clerical duties directly related to the organization’s overall fund-raising and program activities, including the annual fund drive, phonathon, Summer Enrichment School, and Shop N Dine. The Administrative Coordinator will assist the CEF Board of Directors in implementing the organization’s programs.  The position requires independent judgment to maintain the workflow of the office.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a variety of people and programs.  The candidate will be detail-oriented and highly organized, with a high degree of personal integrity, mature judgment and a sense of humor. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of MS Office, and be familiar with QuickBooks and FileMaker Pro.

Hours: M-F 10:00am – 12:00pm. The position is exempt with two weeks of paid vacation and one week of sick leave per calendar year, following completion of probationary period.  Attendance at monthly evening Board of Directors meeting and some weekend work is required.

Salary commensurate with experience ($14-$16/hr)
