Three language labs, each consisting of one laptop, one wireless Internet access point, and 20 iPod Touches, were placed in three classrooms in the World Language Department at Claremont High School. The iPod labs allow CHS students taking Spanish, French, German, and English as a Second Language (ESL) to develop language proficiency in an authentic, engaging, individualized, and meaningful way that matches the students’ digital native environment. The iPods are primarily used in three ways: as an audio recorder, to interact with educational apps, and as a web browser.
