$4,062 was spent on Audio-Visual Equipment and Installation for the Danbury disABLEd Sports program using the Wii / X-Box for state-wide X-Box sports competitions. The first school district Danbury will compete against will be El Monte Unified School District, whose Technology Department just last week, working with the CUSD Technology Department, gave their approval for this cross-district X-Box Internet competition to proceed. Trial competitions, last week, via Internet two miles apart between locations have been very successful, so all systems are ‘Go’. Competitions between CUSD and El Monte USD orthopedic program will begin mid-December. Mr. Hamilton will be speaking at an Orthopedically Impaired Teacher Conference in Santa Barbara this February presenting the physical and social benefits of the Danbury Internet X-Box competitions thanks to the CEF for their donation. It is anticipated that the other Orthopedically Impaired teachers in attendance at this conference who are from all over the state of California, will also begin to participate in this CEF funded project.

$2,835 was used to purchase of six (6) Document Cameras for use in the Danbury classrooms.

Thank you so much for your part in changing the lives of the student who attend Danbury School. Our staff appreciates it very much!

Steve Hamilton, Principal

2009

Students in grades 2-6 received 40 minutes of music instruction every other week from Donna Marie Minano
In 2009, musical rhythm instruments were purchased for the program.

Art materials were purchased for February Art Discovery Day.  The 6th grade teachers work with their students on this special project during the month of February. The 6th grade students in turn lead small groups of K-5 students in the activity on the actual Discovery Day. This activity lasts all day and is accompanied by an art related assembly.
