Amount gifted $20,000;
At Oakmont Elementary, new Principal Stacey Stewart has outfitted 11 classrooms with individual document cameras and projectors with $10,000 provided by CEF. This will be the first time, Oakmont has used this technology in any of their classrooms. Ms. Stewart states, "The document cameras and projectors are amazing tools that are allowing our teachers to share full color, full motion visuals with students. These tools give our students a more dynamic and interactive classroom experience. The document cameras have helped make the most out of any lesson by allowing the teachers to move past the whiteboard and into the world of three dimensional shapes".

The document cameras are able to magnify and project the images of actual, three-dimensional objects. They are high-resolution web cameras mounted on arms so as to facilitate their placement over a page. This allows our teachers or students to write on a sheet of paper or to display two or three-dimensional object while peers watch. The camera can also take picture(s) which in turn produces a live picture using the projector. Our document cameras and projectors have truly become efficient tools on campus, and we are confident they will have a great impact on student learning. We love them!!

The additional $10,000 will be spent on art and music.
